Our SMART360 is an Al-enabled Smart Utility Platform designed to meet the needs of small and mid-sized utilities. It is a unified platform for managing customer experience, work order management, billing and payments, and asset management.
Challenge
When I began, the company was in its nascent stages of conceptualizing and developing SMART360, a comprehensive application designed to facilitate seamless operations.

By using comprehensive user stories in JIRA, the development process becomes more targeted, ensuring that the final product aligns closely with what stakeholders and users actually need.

Defining Requirements: One of the initial hurdles was gathering and documenting comprehensive business requirements. Starting from scratch meant we had to ensure that the app was not only technically sound but also catered to real-world business needs.
Bridging Technical & Operational Gaps: As a Business Analyst Intern, my team I, we were at the crossroads of technical and operational teams. Ensuring that the technical team understood the business needs and vice versa was a constant endeavor.
Stakeholder Management: I was responsible for liaising with various departments to gather input and manage expectations. With multiple stakeholders involved, aligning everyone's vision for SMART360 was both crucial and challenging.
Rapid Iteration & Feedback: In a fast-paced development environment, requirements can evolve. It was my role to capture these changes, reassess the scope, and communicate them effectively to all relevant parties.
Usability Analysis: Beyond mere operations, understanding the end-users was essential. This meant continuously analyzing the usability of prototypes, gathering feedback, and ensuring the application was intuitive and user-friendly.
Data-Driven Decisions: Leveraging data to inform our choices was paramount. As a Business Analyst intern, I delved deep into analytics to validate our strategic decisions and recommend improvements.
